Ladies' Singles--Greta Pai'kes defeated Nan Lidste,r 6-4, 6-2. Men's Singles--Bert. Simpson defeated Jerry Grisedale 6-2, 7-5. JQadies' Doubles -- M. Dalton and E . Searle defeated E. Grif­ fiths and G. Parkes 6-4, fi-l. and interpretation, these being the outstanding qumities of their teacher. One realized as one listened the patience tha t must have been displayed to produce the progress shown by the young artists. Mrs. Hamilton- Smith, the assisting artist, was heard in some very impressive readings h e r rendering o f "Drake's Drum" being particu­ larly realistic.
