The Society's Financial Role ...by Dave Barker Since its incorporation in 1982, the West Vancouver Historical Society has played a significant financial role in preserving and publicizing West Vancouver's history. Back in 1992, the Society was the major force behind the raising of $500,00 to aid in the purchase of and renovation of Gertrude Lawson House as a Community Museum Since the, the society has raised funds for historical preservation projects through grants. In 2013, the Society set up a grant giving program using the funds generated by the publication of books on West Vancouver's history.
