The commit- tee are pleased that these whist drives have proved so popular, as nearly eighty people sat down to whist and more came in for the dance. Among the citations which comprise the Lesson - Sermon is the following from the Bible: "0 Lord, how manifold sre Thy worksl in wisdom hast Thou made them all: the earth is full of Thy riches." (Psalms 104: 24). The Lesson - Sermon also in- cludes the following passage from the Christian Science text- book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mar Baker Eddy: "God is individus, incorporeaL He is divine Prin- ciple, Love, the universal cause, the only creator, and there is no other self-existence." (p. 331) LITERARY SOCIETY A lecture on "Africa in His- tory and Romance," will be de- livered by Mr. W. R.
