CHURCHES OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST "Life" is the subject of the Lesson - Sermon which will be read in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, July 16. Among the citations which comprise the Lesson - Sermon is the following from the Bible: "The righteousness of thy testi- monies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live." (Psalms 119: 144). The Lesson - Sermon also in- cludes the following passage from the Christian Science text- book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures'y Mary Baker Eddy: "When under- standing changes the atand- points of life and intelligence from n material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle." (p. 322). CANADA PACIFIC EXHIBITION Forty five departments of the Canada Pacific Exhibition will be ready for operation when the big gates swing open on August 30 it is announced from Exhibi- tion headquarters. Review of all departments indicates that there is a better spirit in business, because space is selling readily, and every building will be filled to capacity by the opening date. In the livestock and agricultural sections space will be at a premi- um, and this will gladden the heart of Honorable Robert Weir, Dominion Minister of Agricul- ture, who will off'icially dtelsre the Exhibition open. In the manufacturing and in- dustrial sections there is great activity. Only a fcw spaces re- main to be gold in the pure food and manufacturing building. The new section, the sportsman show, will be 0 splendid repre- sentation of the hunting, fishing, athletic and other sporting ac- tivities of the province of Brit- ish Columbia. It is planned to make the sportsman show a great annual event. In the realm of school work, women's work, fine arts, natural history, Indian exhibits, machinery, doge and cats there will be splendid show- ings. The school building will have wonderful items of demon- stration going on all dsy, while there will be spinning demon- strations and a magnificent Jan- anese display in the women' building. There will be s great midway and the attraction in front of the grand stand will be horse racing. The evening at- tractions will include sheep shearing contests, horse shows, music competitions and enter- tainment, and there will be a big stock parade ss usual. Sheep dog trials will also be held.
