Following the broadcast they gave an extra hour's concert. It goes without saying that the various numbers given by this popular orchestra under the baton of Calvin Winter with F. C. Anders as announcer were appreciated to the full by the large audience, and they were ably assisted by the members of the Dundarave Id!dies'hoir, who put on several items from the Japanese Fantasy to be staged by them tomorrow and Saturday nights in the Ingle- wood Auditorium. An account of the evening's performance would not be complete without special reference to Alan Wat- son, the assisting artist with the Home Gas Orchestra. Mr. )Vat son, who has just returned from successes in the movies at Holly- wood, possesses a remarkably fine baritone voice, and his ren- dition of several vocal numbers brought the house down, his singing of "Old Man River" be- ing particularly pleasing. Mr. Anders also received well merit- ed applause for his song. Reeve Leyland and Rev. F. A. Ramsey, chairman of the Welfare As- sociation, made brief addresses during the evening. MRS.
