Philips, president, in the chair, before a large audience, comprising members, their wives aml friends. A vote of thanks wss tender- ed to Mrs. Glacd upon her re- signing from o!?ice, for the ex- cellent work she has performed on the executive. Her position was filled by Mr. Robertson. Mr. Kew was elected chairman of the new entertainment committee, and will be assisted by Mr. R. Lowes, at the baby grand, snd it is expected they will soon have some live programs ready for the amusement of the members. Many items of business were thoroughly discussed, and many points warmly contested by ven- ous members. The main object of these meetings, is to bring together all unemployed persons and sympathizers for the pur- pose of bringing about an order- ly, and well established proceed- ure, in dealing with the various problems, arising out of unem- ployment relief, ctc. The public is cordially invited to attend same, with the assurance that the meetings are conducted on strict constitutional lines, and full of interest, and current comment. The association has been of- ficially recognized as 0 business organization, capable and reli- able, in its representations to the municipal authorities, on matters brought to their notice, from time to time. Complaints in this connection are dealt with first by the executive, thence are placed before the member- ship body, and are thoroughly thrashed out on the floor of the meetings, in true parliamentary style, after which they are pre- sented to the necessary powers for their approval, and subse- quent settlement. These meth- ods up to the present, have been of great benefit to sll parties concerned. The next meeting will be held in the I egion Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 10th, 1933, and all members and their wives, and friends, are request- ed to attend.
