WV splits Memorial costs West Vancouver council has agreed to put up as much as 50 per cent of the cost of two memorial plinths to be erected in Memorial Park by the Royal Canadian Legion. The plinths will record the names of the 70 West Van residents who were killed in World War Two. Legion,According to the the plinths will be made of granite and will be about four feet high in front and nine to 10 feet high at the back. The total cost will not exceed $2,000, with the municipality paying up to half. Alderman Ann Arnott said she hoped the Legion will later work with the municipality on a memorial garden in the park as well.
