The evening commenced with five tables of bridge, the ladies'irst prize be- ing won by Miss Gwen Clay, the gentlemen's first by Roy Wood, the consolation going to Ernie Edwards, Following the cards, bfjss Jessie Davies, accompanied by her sister, Marguerite, rendered two violin selections, which were very much appreciated, after which the guests sat down to a light luncheon. The table, which was centered by the birth- day cake, was tastefully decor- ated with daffodils and violets. During the festivities, Mr. Corbett, announced the engage- ment of his daughter, Dorothy, to Mr. William Gentleman, which fact made the occasion doubly notable. A toast was then proposed by bir. Chapman which Mr. Gentleman heartily acknow- ledged. The balance of the evening was spent in dancing.
