Dear Sir:--It has come to my notice that 0 rumor is being cir- culated in the District to the ef- fect that I was dismissed from the West Vancouver Police Force for negligence in my duties snd, I take it, general incompetency. I wish you to grant me a small h7cace in your organ to protest this story. Due to the general fmancial conditions prevailing the Police Commissioners found it neces- sary to reduce the Police Staff by laying oif one msn. I was selected for the lay-ofl'ue to the fact, that I sm the newest resident to West Vancou- ver, having lived here but two years, coming here in July, 1929, to fill the position as constable. Apparently my services were satisfactory as I have received good references, also, was given to understand that if a vacancy occurred in the future my appli- cation might be again consid- ered. As I am s married msn urg- ently in need of employment, I do not care to have this rumor jeopardize my chances of obtain- ing a job. Thanking you, Yours, etc., L. ROY LO)VES. The program for Sunday night. includes the follow: Anthems: I, I Waited for the Lord; 2, Cast thy burdens upon the Lord; 3, He, watching over Israel. Solos: I,Hear ye Israel; 2, 0, rest in the Lord; 3, It is enough. Soloists: Mrs. Colin MacLesn, hiiss Joan Durbin, Mr. A. J. Addy.
