LET CONTRACT FOR RESIOVAL OF BRIDGE Contract for removal of Capil- ano River bridge on Pacific Great Eastern Railway has been awarded to James Wiley, 3860 Ontario Street, Vancouver. The contractor will retain material, according to terms of the con- tract, and work will start im- mediately. He guarantees to have the span removed by July 31. The railway company decided to remove the bridge, fearing that the next high water wifi wash out the weakened piers and sweep the entire structure away. F. J. West 692, TERRI ES SHO)V OPERATING SURPLUS $1,608 45 The Municipal ferries for the four months ending 30th April showed an operating surplus of $1,608.45, according to the audit- ed statement submitted to the CounciL The total passenger re- ceipts from the boatts was $25 799.02 as against an expenditure of $17,770.02. Bus fares totalled $5,928.25, and expenditures $6,- 641.34. The approximate charge for depreciation and debenture interest which was included in the above figures amounted ap- proximately to $7,000.
