The club has now four very fine courts situated at the corner of 21st and Fulton, which are in particularly good condition this year, and there has been recent- ly a large increase in the mem- bership. As there is still room, however, for a number of mem- bers, all persons interested and wishing to join are asked to communicate with the secretary Jerry Grisedale, at West 434 or with the president, Gordon Gray, at West 92R2. The fees this year are for gentlemen, $10, and for ladies, $10, those for married couples being $17.50. Junior members (school child- ren under 17 years) are especial- ly invited to join at a reduced fee of $3 with the privilege of playing every day until 4:30 with the exception of Saturdays, Sundays, and statutory holi- days It is hoped that all new and old members will turn out and start the season with a rec- ord crowd. GARIBAI.I&i I'ARK AND HOLLYB URN RIDGE (Couiiuued from Page I) plateau from the top of 11th Street or thereabouts, which does not present any difficulties beyond the bridging of two or three small canyons. Even now thousands hike up the Ridge winter and sum- mer, and with a road fit for motor traffic leading up to it one can hardly realize what a boon it would be to the population of Greater Vancouver. A change from the damp of sea level to the clear air of the higher and not too high altitudes, glorious views over sea and forest and mountain, an all-the- year-round playground large enough to accommodate Vancou- ver as it is today and as it will be, and all within s few short miles of the city. To sum up, we have in Hollyburn Ridge an ideal location ideally situated, and one which should be secured for use as a national park not only for Vancouver's present thousands, but for Vancouver's future millions.
