Leyland at the first May Day banquet at their home. BASEBALL GAME At 6:30 p. m. the West Vancouver baseball team played an exhibition game at Ambleside Park against the Native Sons, losing by 8 score of 5 to 6 runs. BALL IN THE AUDITORIUM At 7 p. m. a May Day ball for children was held in the Inglewood auditorium, and at 9 p. m. May Queen Peggy and Reeve Leyland led the grand march which brought the day' ceremonies to a close. Both balls were great successes. The auditorium had been beautifully decorated for the occasion the Queen's throne being set up in one corner, and from 9 p.m. until midnight it was thronged with one of the largest and most enthusiastic crowds which has ever assembled there. During the ball with Mr. Gordon Robson acting as master of ceremonies, Mrs. J. B. Leyland presented the prizes for the best decorated cars and floats, after which the May Queen presented flowers to Mrs. J. B. Leyland, Mrs. John Lawson, Mrs. H. G, Selwood, chairman of the Parent-Teachers'ssoci- ation, under whose auspices May Day was organized last year, Mrs. Thomas Russell, wife of the chairman of the general committee, and Mrs. W. B.
