FERRIES CARRY RECORD CROAVD The ferries had a very busy time last Monday, 5578 passen- gers using the three boats. This appears to have been the largest number of passengers ever car- ried on Empire Day, and 1216 more than on 24th Msy, 1930, when the total wss 4362. This Friday the women of the church are holding s missionary quilting, beginning at 11 a.m. A shower has been asked for in behalf of missionary hospitals snd households; also warm clothing for the W.M.S. supply department. To those who could not attend the quilting snd who would care to do anything in this worthy cause the following sug- gestions are made; sheets, pillow covers, bed spreads, dresser covers, tray cloths, table covers, face and hand wash-cloths, bath tes snd hand towels. The Trail Rangers are taking part in the Vancouver meet of the National Athletic Contest at Brockton Point tomorrow (Sst- urdey) afternoon. Last week both baseball teams won their games, the girls de- feating Hastings United at Hastings Park by 36-13 snd the boys winning by defsutl from Grandview United, but on Wed- nesday at Kerrisdale School the boys lost to St. Mary's by 18-13.
