The Provincial Women's Mis- sionary Society of the United Church ia meeting in St. Giles church this week from Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th, with after- noon snd evening sessions, to vrhich the public are invited. Satisfactory practices are be- ing held for Stainer's Crucifix- ion which is to be given by the choir on Good Friday night. HOUSEHOLD HINTS A few pieces of camphor put into the drawer in which the silver is kept will prevent it from becoming tarnished. An excellent way to sharpen scissors is to place a tin between the blades and then work them with 0 cutting motion. This will restore them to quite their orig- inal sharpness. The colors in colored handker- chiefs may be kept from run- ning or fading if they are soaked for a short time in cold water before washing. Old tires cut in strips and nailed along the bottom of the rockers on a rocking chair will stop it creaking when in mo- tion. Charcoal is a very good ab- sorber of odors.
