LECTURE ON MOUNT LOGAN A whole generation of pupils has passed through the classes of the Pauline Johnson School since Colonel Foster last gave his lecture on "The Conquest of Mount Logan," that splendid northern peak, surrounded by icy wildernesses and torrential streams, which rises to 0 height of 19,000 feet. He very kindly responded to a recent invitation of Principal Brealey and gave the lecture again last Monday. It was as successful as ever, his gifts of vivid description and quiet humor showing at their best in this narrative of 0 flne mountaineering achievement. His audience, which was com- posed of the senior classes of the Pauline Johnson School, follow- ed his narrative snd description of nearly 0 hundred beautiful views with close attention and gave him a hearty round of ap- plause at the close Principal Brealey then asked Colonel Foster to present the Junior Fire Warden badges to James Murray and Alton Graf- ton, who had been swarded them by the vote of their schoolfel- lowe. The colonel, whose inter- est in everything relating to wild nature is deep and unfail- ing, gave 0 nest address to the bo 0 which emphasized the vs ue of the services which the badge required of them, Thus passed a very pleasant after- noon. 0 1.
