FOSTER'S I.ECTURE Colosel )V. W, Foster gave a very interesting lecture on "The War" on Monday evening in the Legion hall under the auspices of the local branch of the Can- adian Legion. By the help of a large map the Colonel showed how the Germans intended to roll up the French by making their main attack through Bel- gium instead of from the south as expected and how the British anny so delayed their advance as to ruin the plan. He then dealt briefly with the trench warfare period and the last one hundred days. Mrs. F. X. Hodgson and J. Lowdon gave solos, and were both called upon for encores. H. B.
