ROB ROY PAGEANT AT EXHIBITION Many stirring episodes will be depicted in the famous Rob Roy brilliant Scottish pageant to be staged at the Canada Pacific coming of age exhibition from August 6 to 9, by the Westcoast enterprises, for the Vancouver Exhibition Association. The period in 1690, and Scotland is being suppressed by high taxa- tio nand domination of the King of England. 51cGregor Campbell chief of his clan, believes all ls fair in love and war, and for a time serves the English for his own ends. He returns to Scot- land, and by means of his infor- mation, forestaiis the English military authorities and becomes famous as Rob Roy, the outlaw. He is ably assisted by his wife, Helen McGregor. Stirring episodes follow each other in quick succession and Rob eludes capture so many times that his arrest is despair- ed of. Even after being finall captured, he escapes against overwhelming odds, in short order. He is hailed with delight on return to the clan. The story is interspersed with wonderful scenery and songs, and will make a great appeal to Scottish people everywhere during its presentation at the exhibition. The Caledonian Games, the epic of piping, dancing and ath- letics will be staged on Saturday, August 9th, all day at Hastings Park. Bert Ridley of Caulfeild spent the week end in Portland, Ore- gelb DEATH OF ROBERT LOGAN The death occurred in the city last Monday of Robert I Logan in his 21st year. Mr. Logan, who formerly resided in West Van- couver was attached to the Hotel Vancouver stafF in the capacity of secretary. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother and four sis- ters and three brothers, all of Vancouver. Funeral services were held in the city at 2 o'lock, Rev, Thomas Wilson officiating, and interment was made in Cap- llano View cemetery. A car containing four motor- ists from Calgary suddenly slow- ed up on Sunday afternoon on the Marine Dri~e hill just east of Kew Beach, resulting in its being struck by a stage immedi- ately following and precipitated over the bank. It fell about 75 feet but fortunately beyond cuts which necessitated their remov- al to the North Vancouver Gen- eral Hospital none of the occu- pants were seriously hurt.
