This fund will be used in conjunction with the big yearly effort made by the Elks and other organizations. Last Christmas was the first time we opened our columns for this purpose and considering the short time the fund was open the response was very good. This year we hope to very materially increase the total. Donations may be mailed to the )Vest Van News, P. O. Box 101, Hollybur», or can be left at our office and all donations will be acknowledged in the first subse- quent issue of the News. This will he under the auspices of the Child welfare committee and the proceeds will be used for the relief of needy families in our midst. Little is known of the splendid work this committee ac- complishes and as the winter season is always one of distress to the less fortunate, they hope to augment their funds and thus their usefulness in this way. )Vill those wishing to reserve tables please phone hIrs. IVaite, West 640L or hIrs. Eastman, )Vest 699X3. The other keenly anticipated event is a Children's hIasquerade Party to be held January 4th. It is the ambition, this year, of the Educational committee, to place an I. O. D. E. calendar in every class room of the numerous schools, which, we are sure is greatly appreciated. The members were delighted to welcome into the order a new member, Mrs. Gordon Gray, and also receive the name of Mrs. Whipple who will join next month.
