MEETING The P.T.A. meeting held on the evening of September 10th, at Pauline Johnson school, was well attended, about GO being present. The musical part of the pro- gram consisted of violin solos by Miss B. Hodgson, songs by Miss Durbin, piano solos by Miss Jose Leyland and community songs by the whole audience under Mr. Mitchell's leadership. In the absence of Mr. Davison, the president, Mrs. Jones, vice- president, presented the $ 10 Gold Piece to Hilda Wilson as the highest matriculant at last June examination. The new teachers at Hollyburn and the High School were introduced and welcomed by the Association. A discussion then took place as to how to raise funds and the fol- lowing committee appointed to act in the matter: Mrs. Leyland, Mrs. Moncrieff and Mrs. South- am. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served Mrs. Baldwin acting as refreshment convener and social hostess. The leaders in their division were Shaughnessy United S.S., and with several relay teams en- tered the boys and girls hope to overcome this lead at the finals tomorrow. Soak gelat,in in cold water 5 minutes. Add to hot rice. Add sugar. EVhen cold fold in pine- apple and whipped cream; pour into a mold. Chill several hours until set. Turn out on a plat- ter and garnish with sliced pine- apple and whipped cream. Tomato Aspic Salad For this bring 1 quart or 1 large can of tomatoes and sev- eral celery tops to the boiling point. Season with 1 tablespoon- ful of salt and 4 tablespoonfuls of sugar. Soak 2 tablespoonfuls of gelatin in ~ cupful of vinegar, put 1 tablespoonful of cream cheese into each of 12 individ- ual, dampened molds, and pour the tomato mixture over them. Set aside in a cool place. Next day the salad may be removed by patting the bottom of the molds with a cloth wrung out in hot water. Slip each onto a crisp lettuce-leaf and top with mayonnaise. Raspberry Surprise Put a laver of best raspberry preserves into a sherbet glass, t)len a tablespoonful of French vanilla ice cream, then another of the preserves.
