INCREASING For the first five months of this year 28,547 motor cars entered British Columbia at Pacific Highway and Huntingdon carry- ing 94,547 passengers. This is an increase over the correspond ing period last year of 6400 cars and 20,022 passengers, Manager C. H. webster of the Vancouver Publicity Bureau reported to a meeting of the directors of that organization on wednesday night. Reports read showed that the bureau's extensive newspaper advertising campaigns in East- ern Canada and in various parts of the United States is now in full swing, and the rapid increase in the number of tourists visit- ing the city in recent weeks is attributable. for the most part, to this activity, the directors hold. Motor Transportation Limited, operating Pacific Stage Lines and other motor transportation companies. "These cars are different from any of our other equipment," says Mr. Ivor AV. Neil, general operating superintendent. "They are particularly equipped fcr service in suburban territories. 4Ve ordered these cars with a view to completing our service on the North Shore." Built by the General Motors Corporation, the very latest in engineering skill and body de- sign has gone into these vehicles. Front and rear doors are operated by an air-electric mechan- ism which makes these cars doubly safe for the passengers. They seat 39 people comfortably and are well illuminated for night traffic so that people can read.
