High School News CH 3 Delivery Morning and Afternoon S 3 tables for your pleasure The first of the series of ten inter-class debates was held on Friday, December 7th, in the auditorium. The topic was: "Re- solved that the bringing of the 8500 British Miner-Harvesters to Canada in 1928, was Ill-advis- ed." The affirmative was up- held by Glen McCulloch and Mar- garet Reid of Grade X, and the negative, which won the decision was argued by Gordon Grafton and Murray Watson of Grade XI. Mr. Patterson, who criticiz- ed the debaters stated that the students were showing a mark- ed improvement in debating. Lecture on Safety First On Tuesday afternoon, Decem- ber 11th, a lecture, under the auspices of the Parent-Teachers Association, by Mr. Abell, man- ager of the B. C. It is greater than the mineral production of the Dominion but less than the wheat exports. Once each year the pupils of the public schools of 4Vest Vancouver stage a show which is the cause of much antici- patory excitement. Their enthusiasm is carried to their homes and nothing will do but that mother and dad and all the rest of. the members of the family must be present on the great occasion. The great occasion this year is next Thursday evening, December 20th, and it is safe to say that the auditorium of Inglewood School will be packed to capacity. This annual school concert is really a most important affair. The youngsters have put in many hours of painstaking effort in practising the different items presented. Singing, dancing, drills, and playlets will make up a very pleasant evening' entertainment. If you have not children of school age, go up to the concert anyhow. It is remarkable what a state of efficiency the pupils attain under the interested instruction of the different teachers. Some of these teachers are special- ists in certain branches of child development and entertain- ment, and often these concerts have proved more interesting than some given by adults. Tickets 25 cents will be sold at the doors on the night of the concert. Arrangements have been made for a bus to leave the ferry landing at 7.30 p. m., which will travel the upper level route, which passes the Inglewood School. The same bus will return over the same route, leaving 25th and AIarine Drive at 7.45 p. m., thus transporting those from both east and west points who wish to take in the concert.
