WANTON DESTRUCTION OF GARDEN PLANTS A letter appears in this issue written by )Irs. 5IcDaniels of Duchess Street who complains of the destruction and loss of some of her garden plants. It appears that this is not the first occasion on which such damage has been done. This is one of the meanest acts that can be done and wheth- er the culprit be an adult or a .youngster, he should when caught, be made an example of. People go to a lot of trouble and e~~ense in making their .honie surroundings attractive and bright and the beautifying of one's grounds adds to the ap- pearance of the whole district. That this work and this effect should be wantonly spoiled by unscrupulous vandals is a mat- ter much to be regretted and if they can be caught they would ,get little sympathy from the public generally and still less from the police magistrate be- «fore whom they will surely find ««themselves.
