MacLHAN, Prcnsicr WELVE years of social reform and continued advancement under Liberal administration have brought forward Dr. MacLean as our Man of the Hour. He has been intimately associated with every measure of reform during twelve strenuous years of office as Pro- vincial Secretary, Minister of Health, Minister of Finance, Minister of Education and Premier of British Columbia. The Liberal Government has hept faith neith the toorh- ing people tycho build the prosperity of this country. The Liberal Government has a record of achievement toith aohich no other administration has ever come before the electorate. Are we going to let Dr. MacLean continue the policy that is making our Province famous, that is bringing dollars and cents to every workingman and woman in British Columbia? Are we going to accept the record of the Liberal Admin- istration and show them our confidence by again reposing in them the trust they have so completely proved themselves aoorthy of and able to carry on? Twelve years have given the Government a complete grasp of the needs of the common people of this Pro- vince. Is it likely that this knowledge will benefit these people if an untried number of men have to start all over again at Victoria? Something accomplished, something done, has marked twelve years of Liberal Administration. As voters, ave knock what has been done for us, and appreciate it. We approve of Dr. MacLean's P. G. E. Policy.... we knout that further reductions in taxation will follow... ~ and that Dr. MacLean has pledged himself and his Gov- ernment to develop the agricultural area and natural resources of this Province. It is a natural and human thing for us to shou& our appre. ciation and gratitude for these accomplishments.... to show our approval of Dr. MacLean's policy of pro- gressive and constructive legislation by returning ha~ to power on July 18th an6 electing the Liberal c~n didates to support him. On behalf of the owners of the bridge, Sunset Holdings Ltd., iAIr. R. Rowe Holland, welcomed the many visitors and introduced Jack Loutet, North Shore Con- servative candidate, Hon. Ian 3Iackenzie, Liberal candidate, and Andy Pauli, secretary of the Squamish Indian Council. The latest word in engineering skill, the new bridge is the high- est scenic suspension bridge in the world. It is anchored twelve feet in the solid rock of the can- yon edge, and has been freed of the customary pitch and swing of such spans.
