F. A. and residents of wilson Creek and Fender Harbor have started a campaign for furthering a plan to run an auto ferry between Horseshoe Bay and the west Shores of Ho~ve Sound, thus con- necting Gibson's Landing to Pen- der Harbor Road with the main- land. The committee consists of two delegates from each settle- ment, and it is hoped to secure the support of all places between Gibson's Landing and Powell River. He asked for the coun- cil's assistance for the campaign this summer, also a donation for expenses. The council replied ei~ressing their interest in the project and asking that they be sent any further information on the sub- ject. J. )V. Pinkham, AV. V. Bywat- er, and Tom Garrow wrote the council protesting against any further opening of the trail af- fecting their property at Lots 10, 11, and 12, Block 46, D. L. 430. The matter was referred to the municipal engineer for his report. L. O. L. There was a good turn-out at the regular meting of AVest Van. L.O.L. No. 2990, which took place in St. Stephen's Hall on Tuesday evening. The lodge will parade next Sunday with the Vancouver Lodge for the annual church ser- vice at the Orange Hall, Gore and Hastings St., at 2 p, m. The lodge will meet at 7 a. m. in St. Stephen's Hall next Thurs- day, July 12th, and at 8 a. m. will parade to 14th Street. They will meet the North Vancouver lodge in North Vancouver and join the Vancouver parade to Stanley Park at 10 a. m. L. O. L. 2990 have entered a team in the tug- of-war and hope to bring the cup to West Vancouver. The council concurred with the recommendation of Engineer Duncan to reject Elliott 8: Hew- itt's application to re-subdivide Lot 4, D. L. 774. Ferries Show Operatiing Profits The auditors report on the municipal transportation system has been received for the five months ending 31st May, this year. The operating profit is shown as $2522.69, this not in- cluding depreciation and sinking fund and interest charges, which amount to $8,500 approximately.
