According to a report issued by the bridge officials 20,888 per- sons and 6180 vehicles used the bridge. Fraser, the 25th Company of the I.O.D. E. Girl Guides entertained the 45th Company, the Brownies, their parents, and friends in St. Stephen's Hall. After the open- ing ceremonies hIiss Davies, Div isional Commissioner for the North Shore, enrolled three new members for the 25th Company and six for the 45th Company. She also presented badges to the Brownies and Guides and gave an inspiring talk on guide work as a whole. The Brownies gave an attrac- tive number, which was enjoy- ed by all. Captain Lovegrove put the girls through military drill, and Ada Albin held a con- test in signalling, the winners being Josie Leyland and Eleanor Eager. Audrey Lester won a first aid kit for her patrol, which had been donated by Mrs. Jack- son, who has had charge of first aid with the girls. Lieutenants Sybil Chapman and Ruth Jack- son had charge of the games and refreshments. A very delight- ful evening around an improvis- ed camp fire was brought to a close with the singing of camp firg songs and taps. The Duncan Lawson Chapter, I.O.D.E., held their regular meet- ing Monday, June 11th, at which arrangements were completed for the garden fete on June 27th. Owing to the illness of hIrs. Red- den, it was necessary to change the venue and the kind offer of Mrs. AV. D. Fraser, 18th and Es- quimalt, to use her grounds was very gratefully accepted. All committee reports showed every- thing progressing splendidly, and a very enjoyable time is an- ticipated. The memorial arch committee reported that twenty- five dozen bedding plants had been purchased and put in the plot surrounding the arch and that the grounds were now in excellent condition and arrange- ments were being made to keep them so during the summer.
