Dear Sir: Having had the pleasure of assisting at oneor two of your Swimming Galas in West Van couver, I am taking the liberty of writing you on the question of a Swimming Club in West Vancouver. I was one of four or five men who started the Vancouver Amateur Swimming Club in 1913 and have seen it grow in leaps and bounds since that time, the club have always helped the Juniors along who ultimately have become some of the club's best swimmers. Now you have in West Van a wonderful place for swimming, at the Dundarave Pier you have a Swimming Course second to none in these parts, also a pier from which to view water polo matches and races, why not start working to get a Swim ming Club started, if this could be done I can assure you that the efforts would be well re warded. Mr. Dunn, of the Canadian Amateur Swimming Associa tion has intimated to me that he would gladly give any assistance he possibly could. I understand that a number of swimming baths are to be constructed in the near future and if competitions are to be staged bone fide clubs will have to be formed, it would be a splendid thing for West Van couver. I would like to see in the near future a gathering of your prominent men in West Van with the view of starting a Swimming Club so as you would have everything in order for next season, there is no reason why you could not have the best club in B. C. as far as racing and water polo is concerned. I am not a resident of West Vancouver but have spent sev eral months here on two occas ions and from a swimming point of view can appreciate what a splendid spot you have at Dun- derave for club work, water polo matches, life saving dis plays etc. Thanking you, Yours very truly, SIDNEY E.
