McQueen, city clerk, on be half of City Hall employees, to Miss Isabel Mclnnis, a member of the staff, whose marriage to Dr. E. R. Rowan, West Vancou ver, took place last Thursday. McINNIS--ROWAN WEDDING A pretty wedding took place last Thursday morning (April 14th) at 10 o'clock at the resid ence of Rev. A. M. O'Donnell, when Isabel Mclnnes, second daughter of Mrs. M. Gray, 24th Street, was united in marriage to Dr. E. R. Rowan, eldest son of Mr. W. 0. Rowan of Vancou ver. The bride was given away by Dr. F. Stainsby. Dr. Harold Cline acted as groomsman. The bride wore a dress of periwinkle georgette and a picture hat to match and carried a bouquet of ophelia roses and sweet peas. The happy couple left immediate ly for a motor trip to Seattle, and have now taken up residence on 24th Street. DUNDARAVE PHARMACY HAS NEW PROPRIETOR Mr. J. Finlayson has bought Dundarave Pharmacy, from the estate of J. Vance and will be opening the store for business next week. Mr. Finlayson is a graduate of Great Britain and of B. C., and hopes to receive a fair share of the patronage of the district. TENNIS CLUB The re-conditioning of the tennis courts has been consider ably delayed on account of the early morning frosts, but it is hoped that two courts will be in shape to play on over the week end. No definite promise, however, for this can be given. The regular meeting of the Scottish Society will be held to night at "the Clachan." Colonel Foster will lecture on "National Parks of Canada." The meeting is open to friends of members. Next Friday a "tartan" dance will be given by the North Van couver Caledonian Society in the K. P. Hall. * * * The old fire-hall is now being demolished, making more space for the approach and turning of the busses. This makes a de cided improvement at the ferry entrance, and a still greater im provement could be affected by the laying of a concrete floor in the court where the buses load and unload passengers. * * * Mr. C. J. Legge, who we re ported in our last issue as having returned from Victoria to his home at 26th and Palmerston, informs us that this is not quite correct. His home was in Vic toria, but he is living now in a small dwelling at 26th and Pal merston, where he may build a house at some future date. LEGION TO HOLD MEETING The West Vancouver branch of the Canadian Legion are holding their regular monthly meeting tonight (Friday) in the G. W. V. A. rooms in the ferry build ing. Every member is requested to be present. A cordial invita tion is extended to all ex-service men to attend this meeting. Any information regarding the Legi on can be obtained from the members or the Secretary, phone West 412L. A whist drive and dance will be given by the W. B. A. next Wednesday in the Ambleside Hall, proceeds in aid of the Children's Playground Fund. Barry's Orchestra will be in at tendance. * * * The Boys' Choir will resume practice tomorrow at 10 a. m. in the Hollyburn School. * * * Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Colvin and family with Mr. Blake--Mrs. Colvin's father--are new resid ents, coming here from Calgary, Alberta, and have taken the Jones' house on the north side of'Marine Drive between 13th and 14th Streets. * * * Mr. H. May wdth his sister, Mrs. J. Clarke, spent the Easter holidays with their brother at Everett, Washington, driving down on Saturday and returning on Tuesday. Mr. May reports quite a bit of snow having fallen in Everett during last Monday night. * * * Mr. .J. S. Daly, who operates a general store at Abbotsford, was a visitor to West Vancou ver last week. Mrs. Daly and her three-weeks-old daughter, are staying here for the sum mer, ,and are living at 11th and Esquimalt. * * * Mr. Valentine of the Canadian Window Bakeries, has greatly improved the interior of his store by the addition of glass show cases, etc. It is his intention to put up a partition separating the tearoom from the store prop er.
