I had the pleasure of hearing them in several selections which were most sympathetically list ened to by a very human crowd. Now, there were lots of musical folks there and many were pro fessional musicians, the latter class more aware of the perform ers shortcomings than the re mainder of the audience. What we all recognized was the spirit of boyish delight and gratitude as can only be expressed by bright, clean, young lads of a boys' band. No other older mus icians, however skilled in their profession, could possibly pro duce that beautiful sense in music. We had the same beauty in the Westminster Choir boys and here it is again in another form. The instrumentation of the band is brass and includes two saxophones and three drums, a total of twenty-eight pieces. The youngest player is aged nine years and the oldest member just seventeen. Each boy is fully insured. David Spencer Co. is supplying them with groceries throughout their Canadian tour and Pat Burns is looking after their meat ration. It is up to every one to pay a visit to Spencer's store for the sake of hearing music which ex presses something very real in a special way and which goes be yond where words end. The real spirit of youth, not the jazz kind, which latter is only an insult to youth.
