C. vs. Lynn Valley C. C. at Lynn Valley, Saturday 23rd July, 2.30 p.m. West Vancouver broke the spell of bad luck with a vengeance last Saturday at Mahon Park, while their opponents were a weakened side the batting of West Vancouver was an excellent performance. The opening batsman, G. Emerton-Court and H. G. Rerrie soon collared the bowling and put on 60 runs before Courts' wicket fell. Rerrie being joined by Cuptnin Barwis, the pair made merry with the bowling and from a spectators point of view it was a treat to watch the activity of this pair. Rerrie was eventually out to a brilliant catch by Bernard Legh, having Hcored 69 runs. Baker then joined Barwis, but could not get started, his recent bad luck being again with him, he fell to a catch from the bowler. Chapman then joined Barwis, but after scoring a boundary and 3 other runs, was clean bowled by M. Emerton-Court. Frost then joined Barwis and this pair by line batting, carried the total to 905 in two hours and u quarter of batting, which is a remarkable feat; the former muking 110 and Frost 59. The innings was then declared dosed. The North Shore were unfortunate in losing their first wicket with the first hull of the innings; G. Emerton-Court clean bowling A. Hullah, and it was left to Dalton, who butted in nice style for 60; Kirby 2# and Morris Emerton-Court, not out, 15; Smith 12, and Irvine 9 to effect their total of 141.
