SPECIALLY WELCOhIE CAPILANO RESERVE AS AIRPORT Delegate 51ay Be Sent to Ottawa The North Vancouver C&ty Council on Monday night discus- sed again the place to establish an airport on the Capilano Indi- an Reserve, as suggested several months ago by Councillor J. T. )Vatt of West Vancouver, at that time Colonel K. )V. Savory and Captain F. F. Lovegrove took up the question with Gen. McBrien, as a result of which he flew over the area in question for purposes of investigating its possibilities. Mayor Taylor of Vancouver, is shortly leaving for Ottawa in an effort to obtain for Vancouver the sam etreatment as was rec- ently given Montreal when an airport was established there. The North Vancouver council agreed to pay their share of the cost of sending a delegate to ac- company Mayor Taylor, as they feel that the Capilano reserve is equally as suitable as the Span- ish Banks for an airport. The magistrate's convic- tion of Tait, with a fine of $50 stands. In announcing the court's de- cision, Chief Justice J. A. Mac- donald said: "While this court has no desire to reflect unduly on these people, the evidence has convinced me that it was not 8 genuine scheme. It is not neces- sary to say it was fraudulent, but it was certainly not a scheme which was within the Criminal Code. The appeal is dismissed."
