The North Vancouver City Council at their meeting on Mon- day night decided to ask General Sutton to address a public meet- ing on November 3rd, on his re- turn from the mtenor. General Sutton has expressed his willingness to address resi- dents of the North Shore, aml the meeting is to take place in the K. P. ' o 'o The Central City Mission of Vancouver is giving a concert at Dundarave Hall next Thurs- day at 8.15 p.m. A good pro- gramme has been arranged. The proceeds are in aid of the Good IVill Industries, a part of the work of the mission which con- sists in renovating old clothes given to them, and which are used for the benefit of the desti- tute poor in the city. No ad- mission is charged, but there will be a silver collection. o o Nr. Rogers, 27th Street, last week shot a cat owl, which was endeavoring to steal his chick. ens. It weighed 5 lbs and had a four foot wing spread. The bird was used at the Pauline Johnson School on Tuesday in connection ivith the nature studi- es of the children. This species of owl is so called from the down on its legs and the heavy pads of flesh on its feet, which resemble those of a cat.
