MACDONALD PERSONALS A presentation of a purse of gold was made on Wednesday night at the Fortune Cup Inn to Father A. DIacdonald by the ladi- es of St. Anthony's Church. J. J. Dutton made the presentation speech. Speeches were also made by I"ather J. B. Macdonald, rector of the pro-cathedral, Van- couver, also by Father P. B. Fog- arty and Father J. Kelly. Fath- er A. Macdonald in accepting the purse thanked the donors and voiced his regrets at leaving West Vancouver. At the conclu- sion of the evening refreshments were sened by the ladies. B. C. ANGI,ERS'SSOCIA- TION HOLD COMPETITION AT GARROW BAY The B. C. Anglers'ssociation held a deep sea fishing competi- tion on Sunday at Garrow Bay. The competition ivas conducted under the supervision of the president, Johnson Lee, and the vice-president, Jim Holt. About 50 members took part, the fol- lowing being the winners: first prize, E. Whatmough, 14 lbs.; second prize, J. W. Fox, 131/2 lbs.; third prize, F. Southern and J. J. Powell, 121/i lbs. each; ladies'pecial prize, Mrs. Jim Holt, 31/2 lbs. The fish caught were all cod or bass and one fair sized skate. Until further notice is given the West Vancouver Liberals are discontinuing their regular monthly meetings. An auto collision occurred on Wednesday morning when E. G. Crisford, ivho was proceeding v&est on Esquimalt in his Chevro- let, and J. Wailer, going north in his Ford truck on 16th, crash- ed together at t'ee street inter- section. Both cars were precip- itated into the ditch on the north side of Esquimalt, but fortun-f ately neither driver was hurt. The Chevrolet had a broken fen- der, front and aprons bent, and a front and rear wheel damaged. Both rear wheels of the Ford were smashed and a fender and running board badly damaged. The Marine Motors took charge of the wreck and towed both cars to their garage, where they are being repaired. Miller'3 cottage at 16th and Fulton, but the fire, which was very small,had been put out with buckets of water almost as soon as the call had been sent in. There was some water damage and a chair was burnt. Mr. and Mrs. J. Sheridan Flan- agan, Altamont, entertained at a Children's Party last Sunday, the occasion being the 1st birth- day of their daughter, Mary Patricia. Coney and her little daughter returned from the North Vancouver General Hos- pital on Tuesday and are staying with Mr. and Mrs. George Gem- mill, 25th and Esquimalt. Miss Ruth M.
