With this object in view all girls interested are in- vited to come to a social after- noon to be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Iiolliday, Mariiie Drive, between 29th and 30th Streets, on Tuesday afternoon, rhpril 19th, at 2.30 p.m., when the matter will be discussed and arrangements made. Miss John- son of Vancouver, will be the Guider in charge of the new company with the assistance of Mrs. George Shepherd and Miss Sybil Chapman. All meetings of this new company will be held in the afternoon. An Exhibition of Dancing by the pupils of Miss Joyce Pum- phrey for the benefit of Division- al Girl Guide Headquarters in Vancouver and Camp Fund will be held at the Orpheum Thea- tre, Monday, May 9th, 1927, at 8.15 p.m. The West Vancouver Girl Guides are selling tickets for this concert and respectfully ask the support of all interested in the Girl Guide movement. Archie Brundrett, wireless op- erator on the "City of Vancou- ver," who is visiting his parents for afew days after a voyage to Japan, expects to leave again with his ship on 19th April. He is a son of Harry Brundett, 1144 Jefferson. s Miss Hamill of the Hollyburn School staff, was called to her home in Armstrong last Thurs- day owing to the serious illness of her father, John Hamill, who has since died. Mr. Hamill was justice of the peace, and one of the best known citizens of Arm- strong. W. Herrin has taken up resi- dence again in his house at 14th and Haywood, after having hail extensive alterations made to it. We have been requested to ask that people refrain from calling up school phones during the time the schools are in session, as it disturbs the school routine. s o J. M. Paul has rented M. Mark- ham's house at 21st and Belle- vue. s The West Bay Beach Store, which has been closed for the winter, has been re-opened by Miss J. H. Morris after extensive alterations and improvements. Miss Morris is carrying home- made cakes and confectionery, but is specialising on teas and refreshments served on the ver- andah overlooking the bay. N. Demers of Port Haney, has rented A. A. Rerrie's house at 20th and Bellevue. The United Church team which has entered the Intermediate League, had a practice last Fri- day. The League games will probably start about 21st April. Cyril Haworth, while coasting down Inglewood Avenue hill on his bicycle last Tuesday after- noon, ran into the ditch when en- deavoring to avoid a collision with another boy. He was part- ly stunned by the impact with the ground when thrown from his machine. Cyril suffered a bruised hip, but is otherwise un- hutt. t o Mrs. Charles Reid of Smithers is the guest of Mrs. Sydney Fay at Dundarave. The Public Library has just received from the Provincial Government 204 new books for the use of the members. o o C. J. McBain, 29th and IVaterfront. o Chas. Forrest, father of Walt- er Forrest, 25th and Mathers, left on Wednesday for Virden, Manitoba. The schools closed today for the Easter holidays and will re- open on Monday April 25th. Mrs. Bowman is starting a sewing class after Easter in the Little Shoppe, Dundarave. o The Marine Motors has been appointed West Vancouver rep- resentatives for Chevrolet ears, both in the sale of new cars and in servicing cars. Chas. H. Hat~er. an old resi- dent of Vancouver, who has spent the past few years on the Prairies as a piano teacher, and who has travelled on the Chau- tauqua circuit with the famous Pereira Sextette, has taken up residence in West Vancouver and is open to accept pupils for the piano. Mr. Harper has had sev- eral notable successes in his teaching career, and will be a welcome addition to the musical circles of West Vancouver. Will Hairier who has resided here for some years is a brother. Mrs. Vegar, who has been oc- cupying the Baldwin cottage at 19th and Marine, has moved to a house on the Keith Road. Mrs. Frank R.
