The total number of delegates reached 1543. Fifty nations were represented and more than thirty languages were spoken. The unique feature was that youth was given an opportunity to speak its mind, as there were 250 delegates under twenty who lived together happily, though in crowded quarters in 8 nearby school building. Of the five young men from Canada, British Columbia sent Walter S. Owen, first premier of the Boys'arlia- ment of British Columbia and a leading boys'orker in Vancou- ver. It was felt that steps should be taken to improve the discipline and general conduct of the boys. Mr. C. Waddingham, who has a large experience working among boys, has consented to act as drill instructor and to organize a boys'rchestra and band.
