AVo doubt, when the shouting has died down, the time and energy (cell spent, we shall perhaps feel like the Daily Province in wondering what it is all about, anyway. In my hum- ble opinion, however, I feel that, if lve put party aside and think of the man, his work and achievements, the interests of this province, the North aml West Shores, and the people gen- erally in that respect. I believe that G. G. h(cGeer is the one man at this time that we should put over the top. I agree with E. D., of your last issue, that more zest would be added were the opponents to meet on the same platform, but, no matter (chere they may meet, can Gen. McRae give us better than Mr. h(cGeer enny So far, I fail to see or hear it. Any man that has reached the pinnacle of suc- cess, like hIcGeer has, is worthy of consideration. Surely cour- age like his should make us feel that he is capable of handling any business administration, then I say that the greatest good will come to us through us put- ting such a man over the top, and not big interests. Here's hoping, A.E.J. Editor West Vancouver News: Sir--About two weeks ago I read a letter in the West Van- couver News requesting the mu- nicipal council to provide a bath- ing beach at the foot of 13th Street. I am of the opinion that this is an excellent idea. My wife and I have bathed from this spot all summer. The rough stones should be removed so as to make a sandy beach. This is not much to ask the council to provide for the residents of Ambleside. I have not read any account of how the council dealt with the request. Perhaps you can give us this information. Yours truly, B. BLACK. West Vancouver Exhibition Tomorrow The tyest Vancouver Agricul- tural and Horticultural Associa- tion is holding its tenth annual exhibition tomorrow in Amble- side Hall. The show will be open from 2.30 to 10 p. m. There is a good list of entries and this is expected to be one of the most successful affairs ever staged by this local association. It is we)l worth supporting by your at- tendance. The officers of this association are very enthusiastic and their efforts have very ma- terially helped in making the residences of our district more pleasing to the eye and if.deed in the general beautification of the district. The catalogue can Ue obtained at most of thr (oral «((res. Those interested in i(e- coming members can obtain fur- ther information from the Presi- dent, Mr. J. Hayden Young, or the Secretary, h(rs. The goal posts will be of standard construction and size and can be dismantled and stored sway during the off season. A considerable portion of the park to the east of 12th Street is being brushed nnd cleaned for a picnic ground and will possibly be furnished with tables an&I seats, also a giant slide and swings for the children. There still remains space for cricket, baseball, tennis, bowling and roller skating. However, on account of that &late being the eve of the federal election, it was thought advisable to post- pone the practice until We&lnes- day, September 15th, at 8 p. m., in Ambleside Hall, when it is hoped that a large attendance of old members will be present to start a successful season. Each member should endeavor to bring one new member. Mr. and Mrs. Kerslake and family, 14th and Marine, West Vancouver, left last Thursday for Denman Island, where they will take up ranching.
