Four girls from this parish, Frances Brydon-Jack, Betty anti Ruth Holdsivorth and Phyllis Johnson, left last hfonday for two weeks at the Junior Girls Camp at Long Bay, Gambier Island. Visitors'ay at this camp is Thursday, August 5th, and the boat leaves the Union Steamship wharf at 9 n. m. Choir Picnic The St. Stephen's Choir and their friends had a most delight- ful trip to Hood Point on Satur- day last. After a very pleasant journey of about one hour and a half on the IVest Van. Ferry iVo. 5, they reached Hood Point, which is a very pretty spot on the north side of Bowen Island. The party landed and the swim- mers had a good time in the beautiful waters. Then supper time arrived and everybody did full justice to the repast, after which sports were entered into with much energy, running races three-legged race, potato race, etc. In fact everybody young nnd old hnd a chance of winning 0 prize. The return home was a real moonlight trip, Ambleside being reached about 9 p. m. Every- body said it was the best picnic yet. The thanks of the choir are due tothe Church Commit- tee for supplying ice cream, which everyone appreciated. bar Heights United Church will occupy the pulpit of the IVest Vancouver United Church next Sunday at both services. The Rev. S. H. Smith and fam- ily who hnve been spending 0 short holiday at Cypress Park, will return to their home at the end of the week. During his stay Mr. Smith hns occupied the pulpit of the United Church for the last two Sunday evenings. Wedding at United Church The marriage took place on Saturday evening at the United Church Manse, West Vancouver, of Albert Earl Hayter of North Vancouver, and Ethel Blanche Nosworthy, daughter of Mrs. Florence Nosworthy of North Vancouver. The witnesses were Frank Alder and Ella Florence Nosworthy, sister of the bride. The newly married couple are spending their honeymoon on the Island, nnd on their return will reside at 446 21st Street, North Vancouver. United Church Sunday School Picnic The Sunday School picnic of the United Church was held at Whytecliff IVednesdny, 14th of July, when a large number of children and friends made the journey. The day wns fine and all enjoyed the swimming and bathing. A number of prizes were won by the children in the various races nnd everybody, when they returned home, a- greed that they had enjoyed one very fine day.
