The third annual Church of England Camp at Long Bay, Gambier Island, opened on hIon- day last with the Senior boys in attendance. The senior girls will follow in two weeks and from July 26th to August 9th the camp will be open for junior girls. August 9th to 23rd is the time set for junior boys and the season is brought to a close with a camp for mothers and small children. Mr. Barton's account of some of his experiences as 8 mission- ary in Nigeria was listened to with rapt attention by the Trail Rangers Monday night and many questions were asked at the close of his talk. The framed certi- ficate of recognition was present- ed to the camp by the hIentor and hung in the Parish Hall. There followed an impromptu musical programme in which Douglas Johnson, Alan Vaughan, Robert Lemon and Albert Kend- rick took part and Robert Blox- ham showed some interesting conjuring tricks. A "Bun Feed" rounded off the evening's pro- gramme and some of the boys interested in star gazing remain- ed behind for a few minutes to gather lore concerning the heav- ens in mid-summer. The annual Sunday School pic- nic will be held on Wednesday, July 14th, in Stanley Park. The Senior Girls of Mrs. Cot- ton's class held an enjoyable pic~ nic IVednesday at Whytecncf. A flannel dance will be given by the Duncan Lawson Chapter, I.O.D.E., in Dundarave Hall on Saturday night, July 3rd. The Edna Haywood orchestra will be in attendance.
