Marine Drive, (between 21 and 22) NEILL'S STORE HOME BAKING TOBACCO, CONFECTIONERY ICE CREAM PHONE tVEST 690 LI STINKS WA NTED Savory & Duval This story concerns two lineo- men, named A and B, whose duty it is to look after the B. C. Elec- tric High Line to Britannia Mines. Last year at a point above Eagle Harbour these two men ran into a she bear and two cuba. A immediately clapped his harids and the the cubs promptly and together sought safety on the top of a stump. Mrs. Bear as promptly called them down a- gain. A second time A clapped his hands, the cuba hit the top of the stump together as before and their mother as quickly call- ed them down. This performance was repeated several times while B stood looking on in petrifed" astonishment. Finally Mrs. Bear became sore at the way in which her authority was being flouted and, smelling B on the morning breeze, made a dive for him. He, forgetting about his avordupoise and A, beat all mar- athon records known and un- known in every direction leading away from Mrs. Bear. A re- turned to West Vancouver in leisurely dignity and reported. The resultant search party fi- nel located B somewhere in the vicinity of Sqamish, who told them he intended to go on fur- ther as soon as he got his breath. This year A and B'9 regular round of duty brought them to the same locality, when they a- gain met a bear, this time with- out cuba. A took one look and at once froze into immobility. And it took all B's strength and weight to drag him out of pos- sible danger. This being a true story and The Hollyburn Pavilion are opening their new addition on Saturday night with a novelty pri-.e dance. Their usual seven- piece orchestra will provide the music and the prizes will be sun- shades and other articles. E.
