NEWS At a meeting of the Board of Trade at North Vancouver last Saturday it was decided to send letters to the three North Shore municipalities recommending that a public bathing beach be provided for the benefit of the North Shore. Attention should be drawn to the fact that there are fine stretches of beach on the West Vancouver shore line. Some cleaning up and various improve- ments may be necessary, how- ever, to render them more con- venient for public bathing an 1 swimming purposes. Wilfrid Hay is now getting about without his crutches and is feeling a great deal better, but it will be some time yet be- fore he will be able to return to his work. A delegation headed by Ex- Councillor Fiddes appeared be- fore the Council last Wednesday night with further reference to the Ambleside Park play- grounds. It was finally decided to spend $ 1075, though the a- mount was slightly in excess of the amount set aside in the esti- mates for park purposes -- !n order to complete the work. The improvements have to be hnish- ed in two months. Hence we can look forward to having that much-needed playground in op- eration at the beginning of Aug- ust. Miss Emilia Abrahamsen, aunt of Mrs. A. D. Chilsholm has been ill for the last two months, is slowly regaining her accust- omed good health.
