Later Mr. and Mrs. Jay left for a short honeymoon on Vancouver Island, the bride don- ning an ensemble suite of poudre blue trimmed with grey squirrel fur and smart hat to match. Af- terwards, Mr. and Mrs. Jay will leave B. C. to make their future home in Monterey, N.L., Mexico. A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Stephen's Church, West Vancouver, Satur- day, May 8, when Marjorie Helen second daughter of Capt. and Mrs. P. H. Johnson, was married to Mr. David Allison Jay, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jay, Vancouver. The churc'h was beautifully decorated with white snowballs, lilac and tulips, and the service which was fully choral, was per- formed by Rev. A. Hardinge, Priest. The bride was charming in white crepe-de-chene made with'lareskirt in front, long-sleeved and hand embroidered in rose design. Her beautiful veil of Spanish lace worn cap shape was covered with a tulle veil and caught with a bandeau of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and carnations, and wore the gift of the groom, a white gold wrist watch. Miss Muriel Johnson, sister of the bride, waa maid of honor, and looked lovely in pastel green crepe amure. Faulkner, Mar- ine Drive, on Saturday evening, May 8th. Cards and music were indulg- ed in and a very tasty repast was provided. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Dewar, Mr. and Mrs. T. Armstrong, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Duckworth, Mrs. Saunders, Mrs. Rivers, Miss Djnglvaij, Mrs. Barber, Mr. and Mrs. Garthowe and Mr. E. Tite. A whist drive under the aus- pices of the Ladies Orange Ben- evolent Association was held on Thursday evening, May 8th, at the 'Dundarave Hall. The result of the competition was as follows: Ladies 1st, Miss Dingwall; 2nd, Mrs. Cave; gen- tleman's 1st, Mr. Rivers; 2nd, Mr. E. Tite. Dancing was enjoyed until midnight while some capital music was given by Mrs. Turner, pianist, and Mrs. Barbour rend- ered with much taste a song which was encored. Mr. Tite also performed on the violin with his usual well-known ability. Altogether a very enjoyable evening's entertainment was had by all.
