Successful fundraising allows us to begin the process based on our response to date. We will be continuing to raise funds for the next two years in order to reach our ultimate target before publication. Our goal un all our efforts to raise funds is to provide grants to the Archives, Library, and Museum for the preservation of photographs and documents for future generations. Other than professional help with the production of the book, no profit accrues to the Society. All funds generated by the sale of the book are expended on grants to the three civic organizations. Significant donations/pledges have been received from the following so far: • Leyland Family donation $11,750 • Historical Society member donations 1,500 • British Pacific Properties 5,000 • West Vancouver Community Foundation 5,000 • West Vancouver Historical Society 5,000 Total as of April 1. 2017 $28,250 Our initial target of $35,000 was established to ensure a profit to continue our grant program. We believe that in the coming months we will be able to achieve that goal with a continued program of pledges and donations. The fall edition of Memories will outline a program similar to the one used for Cottages to Community. We will be seeking support from not only our members, but also the broader community. At present a donation of $o will place your name in the book as someone who financially supported the effort. The book is being written by Francis Mansbridge; the picture curator is John Moir, and the designer is Colleen Wood -- the same crew who produced our previous two books.
