NEWSLETTER Issue 181 October 2005 West Vancouver Memorial Library REMEMBRANCE DAY THE YEAR OF THE VETERAN November 11, 2005 Following the service at the Cenotaph, the Friends sponsored and hosted their traditional reception, which included The Dundarave Players, directed by Grace Tietz, featuring music familiar to us from the "war years". Song sheets were available so everyone could participate and we were delighted to see so many young people in attendance. A tremendous "thank you" to Eileen de Bues for coordinating the reception as she has done for so many years; to Natalie Logan for organizing the volunteers; to Brendan Rowell for renting the tableware; to Grace Kravac for designing the floral displays; and to Barbara Drummond for serving refreshments to the orchestra, so they could maintain their energy. NOMINATING COMMITTEE With a little friendly persuasion, Lillian Chow, Eileen de Bues and Natalie Logan have agreed to serve as our 2006 Nominating Committee. The positions to be filled are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership. In accordance with the Society's Constitution and By-Laws the current Executive will retire and the new Executive will be installed at the Annual General Meeting, January 25, 2006 at 12 Noon.
