CROQUET TOURNAMENT It was a beautiful, hot, sunny day, which helped contribute to the overwhelming success of the West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation's 9 Annual Ambleside Croquet Tournament fundraiser. Participants enjoyed the champagne reception and High Tea presented by the Four Seasons, followed later in the afternoon with dinner and a live auction. Thanks to Friends, Kay Alsop, Claire Giberson and Sophia Weremchuk for their support. AUTHOR VISIT Andrew Scott presented his book, "Search of the Coast Line", on May 18 , accompanied by slides of BC coastal areas and the animal habitat therein. It made one aware of the beauty so close to home and a desire to explore it further. As the Elizabeth Musto Room has very limited seating, this informative evening was enjoyed by only 20 lucky people. Refreshments were served by Cathy Clinch, Edda Davis, and Sophia Weremchuk. BOOKTOPIA This annual festival is a joint initiative of the West Vancouver Memorial Library and the West Vancouver School District #45. Held between May 12 - 14, at the Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts, it is intended to promote literacy, celebrate language arts, and cultivate creative thought. The West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation sponsored this year's festival including the puppet show, Anansi the Spider", which was a huge success.
