AUTHOR VISITS (cont. from p.2) November 24th, Rick Kaselj presented a slide show documentary "A Walk to Remember"...a 4300 kilometer epic adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail, which stretches from the USA/Mexican border to Manning Park. To quote Rick, "... with 13 years of dreaming, 7 months of planning and 1100 meals prepared and packed into 30 food boxes, three of them began their 4300 km. trek that took five months to complete." Over 75 attended Rick's presentation to "relive" his experience, which was sprinkled with humour, especially the "outhouse" episodes which he shared with his listeners, complete with photos attesting to those particular "highlights" of his trip. Friends hosting with tea, coffee and cookies were Edda Davis, June Harris and Sophia Weremchuk. ANNOUNCEMENT We regret to inform you that Ruth Birch-Jones passed away recently. She had been a Friend since 1992. We extend our condolences to Ruth's family. Refreshments shared with old friends and the singing provide a very special finish to the morning. Thank you too for your many other contributions to keeping the library growing. Best Wishes and thanks." Just a little thank you to Mary Holland for her colourful and innovative Friends monthly meeting notices.
