"Marcus Mosely and the Gospel Experience" played to a full house and those attending were not disappointed. The seating arrangement was such that it gave the Library a warm and cozy atmosphere, and it was truly an uplifting spiritual evening. Guests were treated to our famous punch, and an assortment of chocolate cookies which were much appreciated. Hosting this premiere event were Kay Alsop, Marlene Scott and Sophia Weremchuk. Dr. Sedigheh Nouri's "A Journey Through My Art" was featured on December 4th with just over 200 guests attending. They started arriving before 6:00 PM and stayed until 8:30 PM. Tasty refreshments were provided by Dr. Nouri, and the Friends were extremely busy filling carafes with coffee, and washing cups and saucers. Our sincere thanks to Friends Edda Davis, Claire Giberson and Kim Vogt for surviving this challenging evening. AUTHOR VISITS On November 3rd, "Let's Talk Romance" was a workshop provided by two successful romance writers, Wendy Roberts and Nancy Warren. Participants were made aware of areas to consider when writing romance fiction, i.e. developing ideas, creating characters, sustaining plots and catching the editors' eye. Hosting Friends Edda Davis, Claire Giberson and Sophia Weremchuk, each received a gift in appreciation for their service and Claire won a door prize. Tom Taylor, author and historian, presented an afternoon event on November 10th. Tom's stories and images of West Vancouver residents who served in World War II were quite emotional and heart-warming. Although so many lost their lives some did come home. Hosting were Edda Davis and Sophia Weremchuk. CONT.p.4
