ART RECEPTION The first week of June was very busy. On June 4th, photographers, Susan Biali and Robyn Stephens opened at the Library Gallery. Several guests purchased their artistic note cards. Our amiable hostesses were Irene Esson, Edda Davis and Kim Vogt. AUTHOR VISITS Edda Davis and Hengameh Soof i hosted for author Heather Spears on June 3rd. Heather read from her recently published novel of documentary crime fiction, 'The Flourish'. RECEPTION During the afternoon of June 2nd, Grace Kravac was hostess for Roy Jantzen's very enthusiastic talk on Routes of Learning (Travel with Elderhostel). This was very well attended. CROQUET TOURNAMENT The West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation hosted another successful croquet tournament on Friday, May 28th. The rain stopped and the sun shone on them for the rest of the day. Thank you to Friends Natalie Logan and Grace Kravac for their assistance at the registration desk. COMMUNITY DAY The Friends' contributed $250 towards the cheery, bright yellow T-shirts that the Teen Advisory Group and Library Staff sported for the parade. SUMMER HOLIDAYS The Friends do not meet during July and August. The next newsletter is usually out mid July but this year it will be mailed to you at the end of August when we have more information to share about the September Book Sale.
