NEWSLETTER Issue 169 April 2004 West Vancouver Memorial Library MEMBERSHIP A warm welcome to Andrea Noble who recently joined the Friends. Andrea is also a new staff member and is the Library's Volunteer & Gallery Co-ordinator. Maureen Eagle reported that plans are underway to update the Friends' Application and Renewal Forms. A committee will meet shortly to re-design these. Just a reminder, the best way to find out about the Friends is to attend our monthly lunch time meetings which are short, informative, friendly and fairly informal. We encourage all members to try to get out to a meeting and we hope to see you soon. Copies of the Minutes and a full Financial Statement are available from the Library's Administration Office -See Lori during office hours. BOOK CART SALES February 10 to March 26, the sales totalled $813.96. Book Cart sales continue to be impressive and at times difficult to keep the cart neat and well-stocked. Thanks to Ted Hill, the Red Dot books are also moving quickly off the shelves. Good job Ted, your expertise in pricing these "treasures" is greatly appreciated and helpful to the bottom line. REPLENISHING THE BOOK CART The Friends would like to thank the March team, Edda Davis, Peggy Keene and Irene Caudwell, for replenishing the Book Cart. The April team is ready and set to go. Nice work Patricia. THE INQUIRING MIND If you haven't yet done so, next time you are in the Library please be sure to pick up a copy of Issue #4 of The Inquiring Mind. Helen Davies, Chair, West Vancouver Memorial Library Board, has written an article about the Friends, and it is one of the nicest tributes we could have received. We tend to go merrily along doing what we do best because we love our library but as you read the article you realize just how much the Friends do contribute, and just how much they are noticed and appreciated. Our thanks to Helen Davies and the Library Board, we are honoured to be so recognized.
