REMEMBRANCE DAY November 11, 2003 An "open house" in the Memorial Library immediately following the laying of the wreaths at the cenotaph has been a tradition for the citizens of West Vancouver since November 11th 1975 and continues to be a very much appreciated and enjoyed. The Friends again organized, sponsored and hosted the event, serving coffee, tea , cookies and juice to over 800 guests while the Dundarave Players provided the musical sing-along. Included in our expenses this year were the overtime costs for two maintenance staff bringing our bill to just over $1000.00. Our heartfelt thanks to Eileen de Bues and Natalie Logan for the overall organization of the reception; Brendan Rowell for looking after the rental of the coffee urns, coffee mugs, plates, sugar bowls etc., Grace Kravac for the flowers and Sophia Weremchuk for picking up the refreshments. A special thank-you to our maintenance staff especially James Walsh for his support and his good sense of humour with last minute glitches and to Philip Lowe who came in early to help with the set up. Gracious hosts for the events were Edda Davis, Claire Giberson, Betty O'Sullivan, Kim Vogt and Sophia Weremchuk.
