MAIN BOOK SALE, SATURDAY JUNE 21 9:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M. As Friday evening is for our current membership only, please remember to bring your "Friends" membership card. If you are a new member or recently renewed, your new card will be available at the door. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by Maureen Eagle and Lillian Chow who will be verifying your membership and signing up any new members. Although our book prices will remain as in previous years we realize that we need to clarify what is meant by a "Paperback". According to Wanda Osborne a paperback is a large oversize soft covered book in some cases it can be as large as a hard cover. Whereas a pocket book is just that, it is so called as it technically should "fit into your pocket". Therefore, pocket books will be 50 cents and paperbacks will be $1.00, the same as our hard cover books. We apologize for the oversight in our May Newsletter by referring to paperbacks costing 50 cents. We hope this clarification will also help our Friends who do the "pricing" of the books at the sale. We still require help with the book sale so if you don't hear from the telephone committee, please call Natalie Logan at 604-922-6281. MEMBERSHIP We are pleased to welcome Desmond Dillon who joined the Friends this month. We hope to see you at our meetings, Desmond. If anyone has let their membership lapse, they will have an opportunity to renew at the Friends Preview of the Book Sale on Friday, June 20th. People wishing to join the Friends will also be able to do so that evening. BOOK DONATIONS It isn't too late to donate your unwanted books to the Sale. All the donations are checked by Library Staff. If they are not suitable for use in the Library, they go into the sale stock. Thank you.
