BOOK CART (REPLENISHING) Patricia Treadwell has agreed to set up the procedure for "replenishing" the book cart. We are looking for a group of dedicated Friends who will take on this responsibility so the cart can be replenished daily. This would require bringing up the books from down stairs, replenishing the cart and storing the extra books in the cart itself. Some lifting would be involved. When the concept of the book cart first came into being in October 1999, a committee had decided that the Friends would sort and bring up the books as needed while the library Volunteers would replenish the cart every day. Now, as we review this procedure it seems only logical that stocking and replenishing the Book Cart should be the Friends' responsibility. Patricia will be contacting Friends who have indicated an interest in "book sales". We see this as an opportunity to involve more individual Friends in the handling of books so if you are interested and have time available to help during the day or evening, please call Patricia at 604 921-3541. RECEPTIONS For all those who host receptions, life has been made much easier since Kim Vogt has created a book of written procedures for these occasions. She has taken the guess-work out of the "how to" for hosting both A r t Receptions and Author Visits. Congratulations and a very big thank you from us all to Kim Vogt, A r t Reception Chairperson. FRIENDS' MEETING TIME Noon or 7:00 p.m.? Without a doubt our monthly lunch time meetings were better attended, sociable and more fun. At our evening meeting in March a motion was made and passed that we change our meeting time for all future meetings to be at 12 noon instead of 7 p.m. for the summer months. We will continue meeting every 4th Wednesday of the month but at 12 noon. So bring your lunch and we will see you at our next meeting on Wednesday April 23 at noon, in the Peter J . Peters Room. Coffee and tea will be provided. We used to find all the + 'one liners'in the + Reader's Digest - now + they come from the Internet! Once you've seen one shopping center you've seen a mall.
